University in Akureyri (UNAK) is a relatively young and modern university in the north of Iceland. Their subject fields are comparable to the ones taught at the University of Presov in Presov – pedagogy, management, natural sciences, humanities, social and health-care studies. The university offers a vast variety of the study programmes in all three degrees of the university education. The educational system in this northern country differs from the one applied in Slovakia; the modern methods of the distance learning (e.g. e-learning) prevails in Iceland. 

University of Presov, Czech Republic belongs among elite universities in the Slovak Republic. The University was established by the Act no. 361/1996 Coll. on Pavol Jozef Šafárik University division with effect from 1 January 1997. This historical event completed Presov’s effort to create its own university. The University of Presov has developed and grown gradually and the year 2010 defended its status of a university. It is a member of   Danube Rectors Conference (DRC), the Association of European Universities and the National Rectors Conferences which main aim is to promote a unified system of higher education in Europe, the European Universities Association (EUA). The University of Presov is a co-founder of the Alliance of the Central-Eastern European Universities and Euro-mediterranean University (EMUNI). In November 2011 University of Presov in Presov was awarded for participation in the National Prize of Slovak Republic for the quality in category C3 (other public sector organizations) as the only university in Slovakia.

The University consists of 8 faculties which offer numbers of accredited study programmes in all 3 degrees (Bachelor, Magister and Doctoral degree) and in both full-time and part-time form. The Universtiy of Presov has been developing an intense research activity and has three centres of excellence. A wide range of courses and educational products are offered by The Centre of Competences and Lifelong Learning. The University of Presov and Queen Maud University College has had a longstanding relationship with the Faculty of Education at the University of Presov, with student and staff exchange. We have been cooperating within the EEA Norway-Iceland-Lichtenstein (NIL) Fund in 2009-2010, Erasmus LLP partners since 2008 and Erasmus+ partners from 2014. 
 

Buskerud and Vestfold University College in Norway is a state higher education institution allowing professional and personal development of students, researchers and academic staff.  The Business School and Faculty of Social Sciences of Buskerud of Vestfold University College is a partner of the Faculty of Management of University of Presov in Presov. It provides students with programmes at Bachelor’s and Master’s level from various disciplines within Business, Law and Social Sciences.  It is especially strong in research on Marketing Management in the field of which a PhD programme has newly been accredited. It offers Bachelor’s programmes: Business and Management, Business and Tourism Management and Business courses and the Master’s programme: Strategy, Management and Marketing, which correspond with the profile of the FM UP.
 
Queen Maud University College of Early Childhood Education (QMUC) in Trondheim, Norway was established in 1947 as a foundation built on Christian values. Queen Maud University College of Early Childhood Education has currently about 1200 students and 140 professional employees. QMUC aims to expand international networks of partner institutions and increase the number of student and staff exchanges. Some of the lecturers are engaged in research work in an international perspective. The college is co-operating broadly with local and national administrations/agencies, with public and private bodies in region, and with other colleges and universities, engaged in the field of Early Childhood Education. The main aim of the college is to educate pre-school teachers, leading to a Bachelor in Early Childhood Education and Care. Furthermore, the aim is to offer postgraduate courses in different topics, up to 1st degree level (BA). In co-operation with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, QMUC offers specialization in Early Childhood Education up to Graduate degree level (MA).  Similarly to the Faculty of Education, University of Presov in Presov, QMUC has very unique position among the higher education institutions in Norway because of its specific study programs and research projects.
