One of their first meetings with Norwegian nature is a visit to QMUC`s old farm Frøset gård. Perfectly situated in the forest surrounding the southern part of Trondheim, Frøset is only a brief 20 minutes walk from the parking ground near Trondheim`s big ski-jump.
The exchange students are going to learn how to paddle a canoe. Some of them have been out in a kayak before, but this is still an exciting adventure.
Alice Chang and Marisha Excell-Rehm are from The University of Seattle.
- I am studying Early Childhood Education at the University of Seattle, says Ms. Chang. - Now I`m looking forward to learn about the Early Childhood Education in Norway. It`s interesting to experience something new, you learn and grow from being in a different country.
Ms Excell Rehm agrees. - There`s many parks and lakes around Seattle, but outdoors schools are not very common.
After this course some of the students will stay a further few months in Norway, studying Outdoor Play and Learning in Norwegian Early Childhood Education.
