Profession-focused practice with kindergarten adoption (PRABA)

New model for practical training for second year students.

Through close collaboration between practical training kindergartens, students and teachers at DMMH, we have developed a model for profesion-focused practical training for students.

With individual practice for 5 weeks and group kindergarten adoption for 2 weeks, students will gain experience in leading the daily life of the kindergarten and collaborating in teams. Both internship teachers and internship supervisors will further develop their guidance skills through closer collaboration on practice supervision and student learning. The university college will thus provide more profession-focused teaching, primarily for students in the kindergarten teacher education program, but also for students in the supervisor education program for practice teachers.

The project is funded by the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills (HKDir) and DMMH. The budget is 9.000.000.- Norwegian kroner.

Start: 01.01.2023. The project concludes in autumn 2026.
