Randi Evenstad

Randi Evenstad is an Associate Professor in pedagogy at the Department of ECEC Teacher Education at Oslo Metropolitan University (OsloMet). She is a trained ECEC teacher herself, and graduated as an ECEC teacher in 1996, further worked several years in ECEC centers. She has worked in ECEC teacher education since 1982; first as an assistant professor in dramatization/theatre, and from 1996 in pedagogy.

Randi has hosted many courses and participated in development projects within ECEC education and the practice field. Her research has covered subjects such as the ECEC teacher education's professional relevance, play and drama/theatre in ECEC, and in recent years ECEC centers’ physical environment with a particular focus on the relationship between architecture and pedagogy. Randi has written several articles in books and magazines in the ECEC field. Evenstad, in collaboration with architect Birger Dahl, had her own article series "Todays ECEC center" in the Federation of Education’s magazine “First Step” (2010-2015). She has collaborated with the architect education at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and participated in several research projects at OsloMet.

Randi is a researcher in EnCompetence as a part of her research position and is involved in all phases of the project, and specifically related to data collection, interpretation of results, intervention and dissemination.
