Language Requirements

QMUC requires all international students to have a good command of English at an academic level and you may need to provide TOEFL/IELTS test scores.

Non-EU applicants:
Applicants from non European countries are required to document their English proficiency:
- TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a minimum score of 90 points on the internet based test
- IELTS (International English Language Testing Service) with a minimum overall band score of 6.5

Exemptions: Applicants from some countries will have an adequate command of English and satisfy this requirement with the English they have taken at secondary school in their home country.

Please see the website about Minimum requirements for admission to Norwegian higher education/ GSU listfor further information about language requirements  and exemptions.

The GSU-list has been compiled by NOKUT (the Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education) in order to show the minimum requirements to Norwegian universities/higher education for applicants with qualifications from abroad.

EU/EEA applicants:
You are expected to have a good command of the English language that enables you to communicate well at an academic level. The level of English proficiency should be at least B1, preferably B2, using the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages scale.

Your home institution will send you a link to an online English test that you must complete before departure. No additional documentation is needed to prove your English proficiency. By signing the Learning Agreement you agree to meet the required English level.
