Lärare uten gränser (Interreg-project)

There are major challenges in recruiting students for teacher training in Trøndelag and Jämtland, a region often referred to as the Nordic Green Belt (NGB). The preliminary survey from 2023 shows a major shortage of teachers in multiple regions in Norway and Sweden.

Granted 1 million euro from the EU program Interreg Sweden - Norway.

Project period: 01.05.2024-31.05.2027
Collaborators: Nord University, Mid Sweden University and DMMH

The institutions will collaborate on recruitment to the teacher profession in Trøndelag, Hämtland and Härjedalen. The project is led by Mid Sweden University. From DMMH, professor Marit Holm Hopperstad, professor Kari Emilsen, assistant professor Maria Selmer-Olsen and associate professor Gjertrud Stordal are participating.
