MLO aims at promoting the practice of Outdoor education, through a pedagogical approach to play and physical activity at preschool age.

Objectives:

Drawing changes on the perceptions of policy makers, teachers, caretakers and parents on the possibilities of the outdoor as a rich and valuable environment for preschool children's learning, development and well-being.

Improving pedagogical competences of preschool teachers and caretakers working with children in the outdoor environment, adopting physical activity and play based strategies.

Teacher’s training resources pack

Didactic-pedagogical resources pack for teachers and caretakers

Outdoor Activities Guidelines and Recommendations for Preschool Education

Methods/activities:

Research activity/observation in schools by preschool educators in partnership with the Universities

Design of play-educational activities, created with the involvement of children, parents, preschool professionals and local municipality

Two training actions for preschool teachers of the schools involved in the Project (in Norway and Portugal)

Production of academic papers to be published and disclosed by universities researchers

Interventions in exterior spaces of schools, for a better use and to promote play and outdoor physical activity
